Rescue 1122 brings forest fire in Mohmand under control

Mohmand  –  A forest fire that broke out in the mountainous region of Danish Kol in Pindiali tehsil was successfully brought under control by Rescue 1122 Mohmand after a prolonged firefighting operation, officials said on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122, the fire erupted due to unknown reasons in the forested mountain ranges of Kajoray Sar, Deeganan Ghar, Reesh Ghar, and adjoining low-lying areas, posing a serious threat to valuable forest resources. Upon receiving the emergency report, District Emergency Officer Engineer Khaliq Dad immediately dispatched Rescue 1122 firefighting teams to the affected area.

Rescue officials said firefighters had to trek for several hours through rugged mountainous terrain because the site was inaccessible to fire vehicles. Upon reaching the location, they launched a firefighting operation with the assistance of local residents, the Forest Department, and other relevant authorities.

After several hours of continuous efforts, the Rescue 1122 team successfully contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading further and protecting a significant portion of the forest.

Rescue 1122 urged the public to immediately report forest fires or any other emergency by calling the 1122 emergency helpline, emphasizing that timely reporting can help minimize damage to life, property, and natural resources.
