Peshawar – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Fazal Shakoor Khan on Monday presided over a high-level meeting to review the ongoing development schemes of the centre region, including the Annual Development Programme (ADP), clean drinking water supply projects, sanitation initiatives, and other key departmental matters.
Chief Engineer Centre, Amjad Shamsheer, gave a comprehensive briefing to the minister on the overall progress of ongoing development schemes across various districts of the centre region. The minister was informed about the utilization of development funds, pace of project implementation, challenges being faced, and the future course of action.
In the briefing it is said that work on a number of water supply and sanitation schemes is progressing at a satisfactory pace while special emphasis is being placed on ensuring the timely provision of safe drinking water to the public.
The meeting also reviewed the timely completion of projects, construction quality, transparency, efficient utilization of funds, and the overall implementation of development schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazal Shakoor Khan said that the provision of clean drinking water to the people is among the top priorities of the current Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, and PHE Department is playing a vital role in achieving this objective. He emphasized that any negligence or unnecessary delay in the execution of development projects would not be tolerated.
He issued directives to the concerned officers to further accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing schemes while ensuring the highest standards of quality so that the public could benefit from these projects at the earliest. He also stressed the importance of ensuring transparent and efficient utilization of development funds and directed that the progress of all projects be reviewed on a regular basis.
Provincial minister further instructed the department to give priority to those projects that would benefit the maximum number of people, ensuring that development initiatives are completed efficiently and in accordance with the government’s commitment to public welfare.
